HTML/CSS Project 2022
The idea for the project.
For this project, I chose to program and create a previous version of my portfolio. This would be a challenge, but I am still familiar with the content I have placed into it. I chose a greyscale theme since most of my art, especially my abstract paintings, uses only greyscale paint colors. I want to allow my work to stand out and be the selling feature, it is why I kept my website style tame I want to be a companion to my work and take away attention from my work.
Time to get out the rubber ducks!
Once I got going, programming with the HTML code was straightforward and not stressful. I got the pages linked up and sized correctly. I moved on to the CSS and started to add the colors, spacing, font choices, and sizes, adding a gallery for the images of my work. I added a motion element to the design too; when the page opens for the first time, my logo rolls in, and I find it adds a humourous component. The CSS part is the part I enjoy the most. I get to start turning my idea into a reality when I reach this stage, usually overcoming hiccups like the spacing off or a piece of code missing a particular element to make it function. Even though those hiccups arise, I still enjoy solving those challenges and creating a solution to the issue at hand.
Here it is in action.
Here I included a video showing what it is like to navigate the website.
